If you are going to become a successful affiliate on the Internet, you need 3 "intangibles." These are things that must come from WITHIN you. First, you must have a strong WHY.
Why must you make affiliate marketing work? What is driving you? What is it that you CAN'T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?
For me, I couldn't stand working 12+ hours a day anymore and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone's time pressures or demands but my own. That was my carrot and my stick. I felt a great pain deep in my gut of missing out on my children's lives and the incredible freedom that succeeding in this business would provide for me. I found my why. You MUST find yours. You must BELIEVE that it is possible.
If you don't believe that it's POSSIBLE for you to make money with affiliate programs or make your living on the Internet, you won't. It's that simple.
For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money online. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then adapting it to my situation.
There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people (millions of them) are making money online with affiliate programs. Just get online and do some research and you'll find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the Internet. I've always said that "affiliate marketing" is the job of the future. In the "old" days, you had to go to a potential employer, apply for the position and hope for the best. Simple Ways To Make Money Online
Are you one of those people who try and try but some how can’t seem to make any money online? If you are keep reading. I decided to go on a quest to find out how some of the Internet Marketing Gurus made there first buck. I mean they were not born with this gift; they had to have started out somewhere. I asked the question "What was the first thing you did to consistently produce a profit Online?" These were some of the answers I got.
I would not call myself a Guru per say , but the first thing I did on the Internet - and still doing, actually - is being a ghostwriter and write articles. It may not be the most profitable thing you can do on the Internet, but it's easy to get started (that is as long as you have some research and writing skills). I also wrote and sold a public speaking course using a basic model.
My first income came by selling my affiliate products on my site. It didn't make much money at first though, but after I learned about Pre-selling strategies and started my own newsletter, I started to see some results. I made real money when I started working on building a list and building relationships with my subscribers. After that, I tailor made several products based on what I found my subscribers were interested in. As you can guess, when you have a great list and a product that your subscribers want, success will just come.
The first money I made on the web was in graphic designing. I had the option to continue with it but decided I wanted to concentrate more on Affiliate Marketing and others Ventures. I also tried adsense for a couple months, did not make much money with it only a couple of dollars a day, got a bit frustrated with it and then got back into Affiliate Marketing. And now, I sell my own products and still do affiliate marketing.
I remember my first profits like they where yesterday... It was from a sale of one of my affiliate programs. My Commission was $25.46 and came through to my bank account thru paypal. It took me almost 1 year to make that first sale...mainly that long because I never focused on my strengths and always jumped around looking for the "overnight get rich quick secret". Things have changed a lot since then, and very soon I will be 100% independent from a day job thanks to Internet Marketing. Remember what ever you get into will always take time and effort.
Well, it took me some time to turnaround that first profit, not to mention a decent amount of hard work. I tried just about everything that an Internet Marketer can think of...well almost everything. First thing I did was write an e-book to sell. I'm still a huge fan of selling information to this day, I also sold Action figures on eBay and thought: "great this is a nice way to make money", what else can I do? Then I got into affiliate marketing and that has paid well.
These were just some of the comments I got. Personally In my experience, what I found was that my failure or success had nothing to do with whether or not the method actually worked, but whether I belonged in what I was promoting. Some of us will never be good in some areas so don’t be afraid to move around and try different things until you find what works for you. Remember to be successful in anything it takes time and effort so be patient and work hard and you will get results.

Benefits of Follow-through Marketing
The thing I hate most about sales people is the fact that after they have closed the deal, you will never hear anything from them ever again.
I recently bought a washer and their advertising flyer says that I get a flat iron and a hamper if I buy it in cash. Since I needed one and I had cash that time, I bought the machine. I got the flat iron all right, but since they ran out of stock of hampers, they promised to send it to me. It has been a month now but no hamper.
For all the business people reading this: Do what you promised to do!
Because of this recent experience and several others (including a pest control company that never came back after I reported seeing cockroaches again), I developed some theories on why people do not do what they promised to do. Here goes:
They forget. Yes, a simple reason but companies really tend to forget. They may have every intention of calling or delivering their promises but was just too caught up in running their business. This is not a justification. We are clients and we expect that all appointments, promises, especially those that are written in your postcards and advertising flyers are made real.
They would not make money on you anymore. A follow up will not make any difference in their business or income. Wrong! They should not expect me to come back to their store if I was not pleased the first time I was duped. Second, I will not sing praises about their product or service but instead talk about how dissatisfied I was.
They do not know the value of cumulative effect. Always remember that satisfied customers multiply mathematically while dissatisfied clients multiply exponentially. If you know this then you would not want a dissatisfied customer only because you did not make that follow-up.
As a consumer, I cannot underscore the importance of a follow-up. It may not be worth anything for the company but a follow-up sends a signal that your company cares. It does not have to be as pompous as an elaborate thank you postcard or as personal as a hand-written note from the CEO. A quick phone call after the delivery of the product or after performing a service will do the trick as it confirms our decision to buy you.
I guess what determines businesses that care from businesses that are just there to make a quick buck is the follow-up. Companies can differentiate themselves by making a conscious effort to follow-up with customers or clients. Is your company one of them?
I recently bought a washer and their advertising flyer says that I get a flat iron and a hamper if I buy it in cash. Since I needed one and I had cash that time, I bought the machine. Because of this recent experience and several others (including a pest control company that never came back after I reported seeing cockroaches again), I developed some theories on why people do not do what they promised to do. Here goes:
They forget. Yes, a simple reason but companies really tend to forget. They may have every intention of calling or delivering their promises but was just too caught up in running their business. This is not a justification. We are clients and we expect that all appointments, promises, especially those that are written in your postcards and advertising flyers are made real.
They would not make money on you anymore. A follow up will not make any difference in their business or income. Wrong! They should not expect me to come back to their store if I was not pleased the first time I was duped. Second, I will not sing praises about their product or service but instead talk about how dissatisfied I was.
They do not know the value of cumulative effect. Always remember that satisfied customers multiply mathematically while dissatisfied clients multiply exponentially. If you know this then you would not want a dissatisfied customer only because you did not make that follow-up.
As a consumer, I cannot underscore the importance of a follow-up. It may not be worth anything for the company but a follow-up sends a signal that your company cares. It does not have to be as pompous as an elaborate thank you postcard or as personal as a hand-written note from the CEO. A quick phone call after the delivery of the product or after performing a service will do the trick as it confirms our decision to buy you.
I guess what determines businesses that care from businesses that are just there to make a quick buck is the follow-up. Companies can differentiate themselves by making a conscious effort to follow-up with customers or clients. Is your company one of them?
